About EURAF:
EURAF aims to promote the adoption of agroforestry practices across Europe by supporting efforts to develop awareness, education, research, policy making and investments which foster the use of trees on farms. EURAF has a network of 28 Affiliated Entities in 20 EU countries and 5 outside the EU. Our Mission is to “ensure that there is 10% tree cover on all agricultural land in Europe by 2040”.
We work closely with European institutions, policymakers, and agroforestry stakeholders to drive positive change in the agroforestry sector.
Position Overview:
EURAF is seeking a passionate Junior Project Officer with a strong interest in agroforestry. to contribute to the Agroecology Partnership project “Enriching European Landscapes with Agroecological Practices (EELAP)”. This student internship involves activities on project management, communication and advocacy. The position is full-time (38h) and the starting date should be in April.
This position offers an excellent opportunity for an energetic young professional to make a meaningful impact on the future of agroforestry in Europe. Being recruited for this position does not imply that EURAF would be in a position to offer an employment contract (yet, this may depend on whether funding would be made available).
The successful candidate will work under the supervision of the Secretary-General and the Advocacy Officer of EURAF, who report to the Board and Executive Committee of the Federation. The activities will be conducted from the office of EURAF in Brussels.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the day-to-day project activities of EELAP (e.g. preparing briefings, meeting minutes, assist in communication with project partners, etc.);
- Developing communication materials for EURAF’s website and social media. Preparing impact communication materials and presentations (e.g. to be delivered in events, conferences, etc);
- Strengthen/cultivate relationships with stakeholders interested in the project (e.g. academic institutions, private institutions, etc);
- Contributing to EURAF fundraising activities on agroforestry and related topics.
Qualifications:
Requirements:
- A bachelor’s degree (or higher) in social sciences, particularly in areas such as rural development, environmental policy, or sustainable resource management, is preferred. However, we welcome applications from diverse academic backgrounds, including but not limited to agroforestry, forestry, agriculture, business administration, or related fields. We especially encourage students with interdisciplinary experiences that bridge social and natural sciences to apply.
Note: To be eligible for Erasmus+ funding, candidates must be currently enrolled students, ideally at the Master’s or PhD level.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Highly organised, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
- Self-motivated, proactive, and able to work independently.
Optional:
- Knowledge of agroforestry or agroecology topics.

Financial compensation:
- EURAF and the home institution of the applicant will sign a bilateral contract, agreeing on the activities to be conducted by the student. The Junior Project Officer will receive a monthly stipend from his home institution, in line with the Erasmus + framework.
- EURAF is not a position to offer financial compensation for this internship.
