EELAP
Enriching European landscapes with agroecological practices
EELAP is a Horizon Europe project supporting the transition to agroecology through multi-stakeholder living labs in Germany, Hungary, Slovenia, Slovakia, and Ireland, with policy and modelling input from France and Switzerland. These labs are located in arable and grassland regions with diverse governance structures.
The project promotes long-term agroecological practices such as agroforestry, addressing knowledge gaps and integrating agroecology into cultural landscapes through spatial planning and biophysical modelling at the farm level.
Key objectives include analysing existing policies, developing supportive policy recommendations, establishing and repurposing living labs for knowledge exchange, identifying viable business models and value chains, assessing spatial planning tools, and scaling agroecological practices from farm to landscape level.
EELAP involves stakeholders across the agrifood value chain, including policymakers and conservation bodies, to integrate environmental and social benefits into sustainable land management and rural development strategies.
