Project Credible
The CREDIBLE project aims to support the development of credible soil carbon farming in the EU. This goal will be predominantly realised by creating and facilitating a network of initiatives, projects, and stakeholders focussed on questions of carbon farming data, environmental integrity, and the monitoring, reporting and verification of soil carbon mitigation. The project will support EU policy discussions on carbon removal certification.
Credible is coordinating the conversations happening within 11 technical Focus Groups, each one of them addressing current challenges to the diffusion of carbon farming. These discussions are articulated around 3 main topics: which practices, what standard, how to monitor. This decision is also reflected in the structure of the work plan, which is organised in 4 work packages (WP).
EURAF’s role is to contribute to consolidating the knowledge and evidence on the best management agricultural, agroforestry and forestry practices to capture and store carbon in soils, and to develop a framework to present this information.
