DISTENDER
DevelopIng STratEgies by integrating mitigatioN, aDaptation and participation to climate changE Risks
DISTENDER is an EU-funded project that develops actionable strategies for climate change mitigation and adaptation by integrating technical measures with participatory approaches. The project brings together scientists, businesses, governments, policymakers, and citizens to co-create solutions.
DISTENDER tests its holistic approach through five EU case studies addressing specific climate risks, with six additional Follower Case Studies planned for replication. The project will also deliver a Decision Support System (DSS) to help policymakers effectively utilize and scale up DISTENDER’s knowledge, tools, and recommendations.
Between 2023 and 2025, EURAF organized three stakeholder workshops that produced four Shared Socioeconomic Pathways (SSPs) for Dehesas and Montados case.:
